Folklorama
The Scottish Pavilion is held annually at the beginning of August through Folklorama. All MHDA dancers are invited to dance (in the proper attire).
The Scottish Pavilion has lively, non-stop, traditional Scottish and Celtic entertainment from The Flying Haggis Show Band and Singers, the Manitoba Highland Dancers Association, the Ena Sutton Dancers, the Selkirk Boys Pipe Band and many more. Whet your appetite with haggis, bridies, Scotch pies, neeps, tatties, scones, or Triffle Cake. Quench your thirst with one of our numerous imported single malt scotches, beer, or soft drinks. Be sure to stop by our air-conditioned cultural and booth displays, where you will find samples of clan tartans, our genealogical program and a live historical display. Our Children's Corner features highland dance lessons, colouring, a scavenger hunt and much more! Come early, stay late and "Party with the Scots." Don't forget to come out Saturday at 10:00am to watch a live Heavy Games competition. Our children's corner features colouring, dance lessons, a scavenger hunt and many more activities in air-conditioned comfort. Come early, stay late and "party with the Scots."
