Practice Makes Progress

It is expected that all dancers practice at home to improve their skills and build confidence in the student viewing themselves as a dancer.

Dancers should bring a notebook to class for the teacher to write corrections in.

The amount of time that a dancer should spend practicing depends on the age and level of the dancer. Here is a general guideline:
3 & 4 year-olds (optional)

5-7 year-olds

8-12 year-olds

13 years and over
5 minutes

10 minutes

15-20 minutes

20-30 minutes
Dancers should give themselves enough time to run through all of their dances (including choreography).
Competitive dancers should be practicing 3 times a week for half an hour regardless of age.
